The Place I Call Home

The place I call home: Canon City. I've lived here for, um, like eight or nineish years. It's a pretty cool place I guess. If I chose to describe it in one word though, I would have to say it's kinda cheesy. I'll give you a few reasons why.

Reason #1: This town is cheesy because of how it came to be called Canon City. It used to be Canyon City, but a reporter made a mistake of calling it Canon City. Guess what! Instead of retracting it, they just decided to change the name of the whole entire town. That smells like rotten bologna if you ask me. (Just a side note, is bologna French, because it is spelled SO weird! Unless I spelled it wrong.)

Reason #2: Okay, you know how towns have cool like historic attractions. Well, we have those two. Except they're not actually historic. They just call it that. For example, the City of Canon is currently in the process of building a historic clock tower. No, I didn't say rebuilding or remodeling. I said building. How can you just decide to build something and just decide out of the blue that it is historic. (I know you probably all think I'm color blind since I just wrote blue in red. Does that make sense?)

Reason #3: The major entertainment things to do around here are Wal-Mart and bowling. My friends and I are so pathetic. For fun, we walk around Wal-Mart. I also have aquaintances (Note aquaintances.) that do stuff like put those stickers from CDs or DVDs that make alarms go off on their shoes, then walk out and make the alarm go off. The poor "greeter" person at the door is always an old person and don't understand teenager's idiocy and think something is up with the alarms. (Anyway, back to the subject at hand which is not a teenager's idiocy.) You can also go bowling. No comment on that except that it is really stinky in there, cause people smoke. Sometimes it's really busy there, cause there's league. Man, this place is packed with excitement. We used to be able to go to the movies. We had three screens. Two at one place and one at another. But guess what. The movie theatre burned down because of a popcorn machine malfunction. And, no, I'm not kidding. (As a side note, we actually are having another one being built. Hooray!)

So, yeah, in conclusion, Canon City is a cool place, but it is kinda corny. :<)
