The Story of the Square Plate

Once upon a time a family was having a conversation at the dinner table. It all started because of corn. I'm sure everyone has, at some point in their life, experienced the frustration of trying to get corn on their forks. You know how it is. You can only get a tiny bit on your fork, and if you try too hard the corn goes off your plate. Well, this family had the same exact problem. And the two oldest girls of the family thought that this problem could be solved with a square plate that had sides, enabling the eater to scoop the corn against the sides without getting it all over the table. Then all those frustrating foods like corn and peas could be eaten with ease. No more food-on-the-table problems!

Well, the two girls of this family quickly forgot their revolutionary idea and got on with their dreary lives. But one day, their father came home from a date he had been on with his wife. The mother and father brought all their shopping purchases up to their room. Several minutes later, the father came down the stairs with something in his hand. It was very mysterious! He handed something fascinating to the two daughters who had problems with peas and corn-a square plate!! They couldn't believe it! The problem was solved! Plus, it was a way cool gift! They lived happily ever after and never again suffered the frustrations that peas and corn can cause. Plus, their lives were no longer dreary after receiving the square plate.
