Wednesday

I was going to post yesterday, but I was interrupted by biochemical pathways and mutant E. coli. Woo hoo! :) Lucky for you all, I figured it out.

So, I'm trying to get an internship for this summer. I feel like I've submitted a million-yeah, literally-applications. I applied to a few zoos and one research program in Alaska. I hope to go to Alaska. I've always wanted to, and that would be pretty amazing. We shall see.

Void Versus Devoid

Well, it didn't take long for me to not be bored. :) I'll have homework up to my eyeballs until May 2 from here on out. Lovely....

I have a question. Whoever can answer it will be my all time here. What is the difference between void and devoid? The dictionaries I have looked at give void as a definition devoid and vice versa. You can't have a prefix in front of a word without changing it though (de)!! Right? Any ideas....

Enjoy It While It Lasts

So, believe it or not, I'm bored. It always takes a while for school to get started up. I got a big assignment in chemistry yesterday, but it was quickly finished with all the extra hours I have. In chemistry, we don't have lab the first normal meeting time for some odd reason. This is a three hour class, so that is three extra hours for me. In any case, I am taking advantage of it while I can. Getting ahead, doing some reading, watching some "Gilmore Girls".

Nothing much else to report.... :)

First Day

First day of school!!! :)
It's 11:35, and I haven't even had my first class. This is going to be great. My earliest class this semester is 9 or 10. I can't remember which. In any case, I don't have an 8 o'clock class every morning. Woo hoo!

Have a great Monday!

Fear

Did you think you were immune to this
Did you think you could escape without infection
You do all you're able to resist
Just to avoid the danger of rejection

Memory warns you of the past
When it all went wrong

When you think your life is shattered
And there's no way to be fixed again
Love heals your heart
At a time you least expected
You're alive like you have never been
Love heals your heart

Everybody has a wall to climb
That was built to guard the pain that holds them captive
Every smile that they would hide behind
Will try to mask the hurt beneath the surface

Sometimes it's hard to understand
How we're trapped inside
"Love Heals Your Heart" and Third Day

It's a choice to have the right mindset about people. I have always struggled with fear of people. I intend to get past that. Enough being afraid of rejection. Sure, I can basically count on making friends and them eventually leaving, but why should that stop me from making them? I intend to step out in His love and have that be the thing to rule my actions, not fear.

The More Boys I Meet.....

....the more I love my dog. This is part of a favorite song by one of my absolute favorite country singers. Carrie Underwood!!!! Who, by the way, is going to be in concert with Keith Urban forty-five minutes away from me. I'm not a huge concert person, but talk about AN AMAZING CONCERT. Too bad the tickets start at $86 bucks. The most expensive are $650. Guess I'll be skipping out of that one unless a miracle happens. :)
